Why imc wind turbine testing solution?
Whether measuring or monitoring in the wind energy plant, whether measuring, controlling and feedback control at test benches for component testing - data acquisition with imc systems is productive, easy to execute and profitable.
Solid and hassle-free, long-lasting and autonomous - imc measurement technology
Measurements on wind turbines are carried out under difficult environmental conditions such as coldness, heat, humidity, condensation, vibrations, electromagnetic interference and transient voltage peaks require correspondingly adapted measuring instruments. This applies especially to long-term and field measurements.
The robust imc measuring systems work reliably in a PC network, but also independently of a PC. Thanks to the integration of all components required for signal conditioning, AD conversion, real-time calculation and data storage within one system, the imc solutions can be used completely autonomously in remote plants.
Even under harsh environmental conditions, imc measurement technology has proven itself and performs reliably in the extreme environments of a wind turbine. Strong temperature fluctuations within short periods of time and wide temperature range from -40 °C up to +85 °C do not cause any problems for imc measuring devices.
In addition to the environmental conditions, there is also an electrically harsh environment. Therefore we recommend our PROTECT series. These measurement modules are characterized by being exposed to transient input voltage conditions, both common mode and push-pull, of different types:
- destructive transient surges voltage
- lightning strike
- ESD discharge events (electrostatic discharge)
- EMI pollution (electromagnetic interference)
The PROTECT series addresses these problems with specific modifications to voltage, current, temperature, bridge and universal amplifiers.
For the wind energy industry imc offers 2 different solutions:
Solution 1: imc CANSASflex and BUSDAQflex - up to 20 kHz sum sampling rate
The imc CANSASflex series are CAN bus networked measurement modules with max. 1 kHz sampling rate per channels and up to 20 kHz sum sampling rate per CAN bus node. imc offers a wide range of measurement modules covering all typical sensors and signals on machines and plants.
The modules can be used both spatially distributed and as a central unit. All that is needed is to plug the modules together: they are connected electrically and mechanically via a click mechanism - without tools and without cables. In test stands and plants, i.e. wherever many modules are to be permanently and centrally combined in one unit, the use of an imc sub rack is recommended. This enables direct module insertion with automatic power supply and connection to the CAN bus.
The measuring modules are perfectly complemented by the clickable data logger imc BUSDAQflex. With one click, a module block thus turn into a complete measuring system that synchronously records and stores all data and offers interfaces to common field buses in the wind industry such as CAN bus, Modbus and Profi bus (others on request).
Solution 2 imc CRONOSflex - up to 2.000 kHz total sampling rate
The imc CRONOSflex base unit offers the central special features of the modular system. The imc CRONOSflex modules can be easily coupled and connected using a simple, robust "click" mechanism. Alternatively, the modules can be connected via standard network cables, allowing a spatially distributed system topology, with up to 100 m distance between individual modules.
imc devices work in mechanical and mechatronic applications up to 100 kHz per channels and up to 2,000 kHz total sampling rate per base system with almost all common sensors for the acquisition of physical measurands such as pressures, forces, speeds, vibrations, noises, temperatures, voltages or currents.
In addition to the Protect measuring modules, there is also an imc CRONOSflex-2000-GP-I (I stands for the isolated system) with isolated supply input (20 - 50 V DC), the possibility of synchronization between the imc base units via GPS, IRIG-B, NTP and PTP.
Solution with imc STUDIO software
The imc STUDIO operating software is the same for all imc measuring instruments and offers the setting of the measuring hardware, the synchronous acquisition of all measuring instruments and the online display of all measurement data. The functionality ranges from simple measurement data recording to integrated real-time calculations and the integration of mathematical models to the complete automation of test stands.
